My six month old macbook suddenly quit …. black …… dead…for no known reason …….never to be used again. Apple said they would repair it for $890.00!!! I had Apple Care Protection and an extended warranty from CompUSA. I have talked to CompUSA and Apple to no avail. I have written and talked with the credit card company and …. alas … they are not honoring their policy for complete satisfaction of goods and services. It amazes me that support people act like $2000.00 is a mere nothing! We have no rights as consumers!!! Help! What can I do to be heard?
Perhaps threaten to (or do) take it up with the Better Business Bureau.
You writing your story on here is a good step. You should continue writing to any forum possible. Eventually Apple and/or CompUSA will realize that it would be more profitable to fix you up than to suffer the losses that your story will cause them.
I, for one, thank you because I have learned from your mistake and won’t give them my money. Continue looking for more outlets like the better business bureau, and sites like ripoff report to let people know about the crappy after-sales service you’ve received.
Also i’d like to know which bank isn’t honoring the satisfaction guarantee on their credit card.
